WHAT NEXT AFTER CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION?

Image
I know that Christmas is over, but I've been thinking a lot about the   shepherds in the Christmas story lately. We all know that a host of angels   appeared to the shepherds and told them about the birth of our Lord and   Savior, Jesus Christ. The shepherds were thrilled with the news and told   many others about what they had seen and heard. That impressed me.   But verse 20 is what struck me this year. "Then the shepherds returned,   glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and   seen." (Luke 2:17 NIV) They returned to their sheep and resumed their   former lowly lives, accept for one thing “ they continued "glorifying   and praising God . . ."   A question shot through my mind. What do I do after Christmas? When things   return to normal after the holidays, what do I do with Jesus? Do I wrap   Him up in tissue paper, so to speak, pack Him away and forget about Him   like I do my delicate Tree ornaments? Or do I c

SOMETHING BETTER THAN XMAS!!!

As season approaches, songs, films, and TV programs promote a jolly and exciting holiday mood —the Christmas spirit. What do you think should be the most important element of that spirit? Would it be     * Remembering Jesus Christ?     * Sharing in the joy of giving?     * Helping the needy? The Bible does encourage all of us to remember Jesus Christ, to be liberal in giving, to help the needy, and to spend time with our families. It also teaches us how to be peaceable. Therefore, rather than discuss why some do not celebrate Christmas, * this series of articles will consider the following questions:     * What do some feel should be the reason for celebrating Christmas?     * Why is it a cha

Image
This is an interesting story .. WHY DID JESUS FOLD THE NAPKIN? This is one I can honestly say I have never seen circulating in the social media; so, if it touches you, you may want to share it. Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!' Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He st
